Hey guys! Rosa and I are planning a new RP! What we got so far is as follows: 1) The setting is going to be in the far past of Dinotopia. Before Arthur Dennison set foot there. Before posiedos got to power. Just as humans were first coming to Dinotopia, say just after the last ice age. 2) Carnivores start leaving the Rainy basin, the smaller and weaker ones that can't compete with the larger T-rexes and the like. They meet with predjuice and opposition from the other dinosaurs at every turn, but somehow manage to overcome this; not by thier primative nature, but by the Dinotopian wisdom they attain along the way. 3) "Savage Enlightenment":... If you like the title, LMK. it was the best I could come up with after thinking for 24 hours! If you have anything better for the title, LMK and it can be voted on. 4) The choices for characters are endless, but smaller carniverous dinosaurs are preferred as well as anyone else for characters. 5) Plot: I guess besides the setting scenario above, this is still up for grabs. - That's all we got so far, and we've been planning it in the "Empire of the carnivores" RP planning thread as well: theouterisland.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rpplanning&action=display&thread=92&page=1Come one, come all! Hey, I like the title you came up with. It sure is better than any of the dull once I thought of. I was soooo tired and practically brain dead when I made that post. lol Hopefully, some other folks around here will be interested in contributing to this new rp. I've been trying to get some character ideas down for when we start. Any new ideas?

I got not a lot of ideas so far. Just an inklling about how to start some of my own characters. (No names or bios yet, though...)
Life's real busy, and there seems to be little time for creativity. But I'll keep plugging away at this idea and see what I can come up with.

Here they are!
My Bios :
_____
Name: Slowfoot
Gender: Male.
Species: Troodont.
Age: 17 *
Appearance: Slowfoot is about 4 feet tall and 12 feet from nose to tail, and weighing just above 100 pounds. He wears no clothes, but has made a bag from woven vines to carry various things. The only thing distinguishing himself from other Troodonts is the orange and purple ‘freckles’ along both sides of his slender muzzle.
Attributes: Knows many herbal medicines and their uses. Knows every plant by smell, and can sniff out danger for miles; and can detect any kind of animal by smell. He can run close to 40 miles an hour in a clearing, and dodge really fast through the forest. He is an exceptional hunter of small game and provides well for his mate, Lomasi (Same as above, but with red and yellow ‘freckles‘.).
Affiliations: Lomasi (Mate.), no one else really. The reason for this is everywhere everyone wants to try to eat them!
Bio: Born in the Rainy Basin near the foothills of the Forbidden Mountains just below where Tentpole Of The Sky will one day stand, Swiftfoot and Trinasi was his mother and father; and there were six other hatchlings born at the same time, but all but he and a sister survived to adulthood (Her name is Dandari.). The rainy Basin is a tough place, and carnivores much larger than they abound there; therefore they were constantly in danger day and night, and one fateful day they were irreversibly separated from each other. Slowfoot ended up surviving to adulthood by some kind of luck, and from even more luck met up with his mate; and they were just beginning to start a family of their own, but then one day their luck ran out!
_____
Name: Digger
Gender: Male.
Species: Didelphodon. **
Age: 6.***
Appearance: Digger is a small quadropedal mammal about the size of a toy poodle, and weighing about 25 pounds. His brown, black, tan and white pelt is perfect for hiding in the underbrush; and his strong claws are perfect for digging the burrows he hides and rests in. He is fond of eggs, but will eat any small creature or insect he can catch; and the toughest egg to get (He says.) is that of a Tyrannosaur, for to get a meal one has to risk becoming a meal!
Attributes: An expert digger (Hence his name.), he can carve his way into any ground nest; and can gnaw his way through any root. Though he knows no herbal lore, he can tell by smell which ones can be poisonous. Other than that he has no other real talents save for hiding from creatures bigger than him (Which is just about every other creature in the Rainy Basin!).
Affiliations: He is a loner, so no affiliations… Yet!
Bio: Born as one of 8 pups of Rooter and Sandy, Digger’s early childhood was full of danger; as a few days after they were born their underground nest was raided by a rival Didelphodon. His parents could only carry one pup each, and they escaped with him and another one in their mouths; but the other was eaten by a Dromeosaur while his parents were digging another nest, and only he was left. Within two months he was old enough for his parents to throw him out of the nest, and he grudgingly left his parents; who was expecting another brood of pups by then, and Digger had to fend for himself. Digger did so, avoiding all the dangers and living a nocturnal life just to survive; but he found that there were greater dangers at night, and quickly went back to foraging for eggs during the daytime. He would soon find out that this method of survival also had it’s drawbacks!
_____
* In the wild Troodonts live to a maximum of 40 years, so Slowfoot is considered a young adult of his species.
** Not to be confused for a Dimorphodon (These flying creatures often join the Postal Birds!). Didelphodons resemble a Tasmanian Devil in size (About the size of a toy poodle.) and equal in demeanor. They generally have the same color patterns as a Badger. (Common name: Bear-dog.).
*** In the wild Didelphodons live to a maximum of 15 years, so Digger is considered a middle aged adult of his species.
_____
I think I now have an idea on how to start my characters off, so if i may; I will start off first!

Nice work, Thundertail! I like your characters already. I'm still working on mine and will post them when I can. I have a feeling as the story gets going, we'll find ourselves adding in new characters as we go. falokar, you could always make some new characters for this rp if your other ones don't work out. Whatever you come up with, we'd love to have you join in.

Falokar, you can make them the great, great, great, ect grandparents of Falokar and Kestria. Perhaps the modern day versions were named after them. They could be mates living in the southern Rainy Basin, dodging the Allosaurs common down there (Maybe an idea...). Soon they grow sick and tired of the harassment and move away, out of the Rainy Basin...
_____
If you saw the post in thr Rainy Basin RP thread, the smaller ones have a hard time living with the big ones. The humans just arriving there do not know what to make of the dinosaurs, but see the docile nature of most of them that they mean no harm. (Maybe Aborigines from Australia, Asians from China and the like and Indians from India... Possibly Africans as well...) There is no common dialect yet between humans and dinosaurs, but body language and vocal gestures work well for now. These humans live in simple huts and the like, archetecture brought with them from thier native lands. (This is several thousand years before the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians are established, so there are no large stone cities yet; only clusters of villages at best!).
_____
Hope this gives you guys food for thought! Have happy times writing!

Here they are. I'll post in the roleplay next.
Name: Kepi
Gender: Female
Species: Deinonychus.
Age: 8?
Appearance: Kepi is about 4 ½ feet tall and 18 feet long, weighing 110 pounds. She looks much like other deinonychus of her kind, which vary in shades of brown, green, and grey. Her clan though, known as the Aswad, have dark, leathery green skin, which often looks nearly black in the shadows. Kepi’s eyes are very large, which gives her a constant cute ‘hatchling’ appearance.
Attributes: She loves colorful stones and seashells. She often collects some of her favorites and keeps them in a woven bag which was given to her by her mother. The bag is special because it was human made, with pretty shells and small pebbles strung through the weaved twine. She loves to explore and many times goes on excursions out to the coast. The trips are dangerous without the rest of the clan to protect her, but she loves the thrill of facing danger alone and surviving through it. She wants to be allowed to hunt with the rest of the hunters in her clan, but must first prove her skills to the elders. Until then, she must stay behind and help with other duties such as guarding the nesting grounds. Bio: She was born in the Rainy Basin, but lives in the jungle just outside of the Rainy Basin, across the Polongo River, near the Obnubian Mountain Range. Her clan, known as the Aswad, travel frequently due to battles and being driven away by larger predators. Her father is dead, as well as all of her siblings except for one brother. Her mother, Subira, is still among the clan and favors Kepi over her brother, Omari. For this reason, Omari taunts his sister whenever he can and tries his best to keep her from gaining a high position among the Aswad. _____
Name: Jabari
Gender: Male.
Species: Human
Age: 15
Appearance: Jabari is not very tall for his age—5’ 4’’ to be exact. He has smooth black hair, olive skin, and dark, almond shaped eyes. He wears a ragged shirt of homespun cotton and pants of soft tan leather. Most of the time he goes barefoot, but if he must wear shoes, he wears sandals made from reeds, leather, and wood. Around his neck he wears a simple necklace with a small pendent of a tear dropped shaped jade stone attached to it.
Personality: Jabari is a thinker and he doesn’t talk much. He has a friendly smile—but he seldom uses it. His face usually holds a serious expression due to his troubles at losing his family to the ocean. He’s stubborn and doesn’t give up easily. He has a bad habit of holding grudges when he’s angry. He’s a survivor, so his critical thinking skills are sharp. He has a talent for wood carving which saves him from a carnivores jaws more than once since many of the dinosaurs are fascinated with his carved figurines.
Bio: At this point, I’m not sure where Jabari is from. As the story progresses, I might figure it out. His original name is not Jabari though. Jabari is the name that Kepi calls him. Kepi finds him washed up on the sea shore and the story begins there…
